Ruth Clayton
a creative nature
Ruth Clayton qualified as a Graphic Designer, specialising in illustration, at Leeds Metropolitan University in 1986. She then gained a teaching qualification at Manchester University.
Since then, she has spent time as an Art teacher working in high schools, Runshaw, Skelmersdale, and Bootle Tertiary Colleges. Ruth ran a successful art studio at Cedar Farm Galleries, Mawdesley, Lancashire, for 12 years, where she taught adults to paint and draw and display her own paintings to sell. She now shares a studio behind the gallery with her partner Stuart Gray at Farfield Mill in Sedbergh, Cumbria, where they work and sell their paintings.
Even though Ruth paints in a variety of media, she specialises in ‘watercolour.’ She enjoys working towards private exhibitions.
