This was painted in the early days of my seascape collection. It was a bit daunting to paint so large but I soon fell in love with the freedom that this creates. As a trained illustrator, it’s taken me many years to move away from highly detailed and precise pieces of work. Watercolour is such a fantastic medium if you don’t try too hard to manipulate it. If you let the paint do the work, the rewards are great. I like to add a gull to help with scale. Watercolour and gouache
